Behind the Lens
Hello, I am a Washington State-based photographer specializing in underwater and nature photography.
I have spent my life combining my passion for photography with my love of the ocean. Over the last decade of diving around the world, I have seen first-hand our impact on our oceans. Of course, for a lot of people, the issues beyond our inland and coastal waterways are so far out of reach that they can easily be overlooked. Out of sight, out of mind.
But the Earth's surface is more than 70% water; we live on an ocean planet.
I believe that sharing the beauty of the underwater world with others can help connect us deeper to this ocean world. After all, over half of the air we breathe comes from the ocean. It helps to regulate the climate, shape weather patterns, improve economies, provide jobs, and feed us. Nearly 3 billion people around the world rely on seafood as their major source of protein. That’s over a 3rd of the world’s population!
Our lives depend on the health of the oceans.
In honor of the ocean, I dedicate all of my work to it. My imagery is a collection of experiences and emotion. I celebrate every species, every location.
